When she enrolled in the A-Reset program, Valdavia started coming into CCDC in March of 2024.  She is a single mother with three children, two 9-year-old twins.  Her goals were to continue cooperating with an ongoing case in court to get the charges dropped against her, to work on improving her credit score, and to seek full-time employment.  She was struggling with a background of little family support and low self-esteem.  She attended classes, communicated with us periodically, and complied with program requirements.  She was prompt, participated well, and reliable.  Her participation included workshops on work ethics, financial literacy, stress management, goal setting, and the ACE/MAPS online soft skills development.  She honed her resume and completed job profiles and area job search databases.  By the end of June, she had completed all her job readiness requirements and the parent project and had enrolled in the Certified Medical Assistant Program at Wallace College.  In July 2024, she accepted a 2nd shift position at Flowers Hospital, where she could work while attending school.  In September 2024, the charges against her in court were dismissed, and she is progressing faithfully through her CMA Program.  She is progressing well, and six months after coming into the center, she has met or exceeded her original goals and is continuing to work on new ones.  We are proud of her efforts here and would quickly be a positive reference and reinforcement for her based on her optimal performance and communication with us in the Community Career Development Center at Alfred Saliba Family Services Center!
